I never thought Ridge Racer DS or Ridge Racer 3D were all that good. I mean, they're fine, but they've just got no soul. Sometimes, I wonder if the reason 3DS games feel so uninspired is because I only have a 2DS, but the 3D can't be enough to make a bland game fun...can it? The Playstation Ridge Racer games emulate nicely on the 2DS and I do play them a lot. Playstation (3DO) Road Rash is what it's really about, though.

it's true that ridge racer 3D isn't that good - it's just an upgraded version of the DS game which is an upgraded version of the n64 ridge racer... I think. I just included that one because it's a ridge racer you can't play elsewhere.

I don't think the 3DS game is based on the DS/N64 games. I just played it a bit to compare and there doesn't seem to be much similarity beyond the common tracks and elements in all Ridge Racer games. If it's based on any of the games I've played, it might be Type 4, but I'd have to play that one again to see. It's pretty heavy on nitrous and slipstreaming, which are from Ridge Racer 6, right? It might even be an original game and not a remake, which would be quite a surprise since at least half of 3DS games seem to be remakes or something.

Thanks, I'll try out Attack of the Friday Monsters. It sounds interesting. I don't really like story-driven games, though, and that's what most of this list (and others I've seen) are full of. What was the discussion of Crash City Mayhem? I've been playing that recently, though I'd say the Dreamcast Runabout game is a lot better.

unfortunately I can't remember what we talk about after we do it so I'm not sure what was said!! it is a story-heavy list but kokuga is not, and I think you'd like that one. gotta protectors is also not, and that one's real fun, but more fun with friends. and I bet you'd get something out of the GG series games, or legend of dark witch.

Is the G.G series all DSiware? No native 3DS games? Not that it matters. I never had a DSi and never have gotten around to looking at all those games on my 2DS. I think there's supposed to be a lot of pretty cool arcade and casual games.

There was a standalone DS cart of the G.G. Series. It's pretty great, though unlocking the games is a pain.

I think it's dsiware probably yeah - and you can play them all on the 3DS. I've still got my ancient copy of that gameloft castlevania-like (soul of darkness) that I enjoyed. that was released as DSiware, an up-port from the feature phone Java original. if that doesn't get you excited I don't know what will!!

Attack of the Friday Monsters is more than amazing. I would advise wearing headphones though! It's been literal decades since Guts told us to play Boku no Natsu Yasumi and that was by the same developer. Friday is a short and easy to play adventure to see if you like these games!
