| | The 3D "your bedroom" motif is a bit of a pain but the emulation seems fine, except I would prefer to be able to remap my buttons, and on a per-game basis. Every time I re-install this I'm reminded that I can't stand Genesis games close-up. |

| | Another go at Sega Genesis Classics on PS4, this time checking out the platform games--and a few others--to see if I can find any I like like I'm liking Castlevania for the NES (see entry 1571). Shinobi III was all right. And I guess maybe ESWAT, aside from being a big white guy with a gun. |

| | Tried 3 of the 4 Sonic games again, skipping Sonic Spinball. Dislike the controls in Sonic 1 and 2; 1 just feels clunky all around; 2 has a spin dash (was that in 1? didn't go back to check; didn't think it was but I dunno for sure) but that's clunky too 'cause you gotta 1) hold down 2) press Jump a lot 3) release down--and somehow that just all muddles me up. Eh. Also not really into the Genesis graphics in these, I dunno. And Sonic 3D Blast is an isometric horror show by British studio Traveller's Tales, who now do Lego games. |

| | Ah Sonic Mania (see entry 1714) also has the hold-down spin dash thing...but the controls all feel way more responsive in that game, and the movement in general feels way more responsive. |
