| | https://github.com/mifi/lossless-cut Cut/merge video segments, usually immensely quicker, and always much more precisely, than in my old standby, version 7.1.8.0 (they completely revamped it with less functionality after that) of Any Video Converter ("AVCFree"). : P (I still keep that around for making animated GIFs out of video clips.) Can't seem to mute the audio in a segment, which would be convenient for YouTube prep ie smothering copyright claims. Workaround is to export the segment, load it up and save out the audio and video tracks separately, load the AAC audio in Audacity, Effect-Amplify -50 (max), save that out as AAC .m4a, load the video track in LC, add the muted audio track to it and select "Longest" merge--the time stamps seem to differ slightly?--then export that out, then you've got your muted segment that is now merge-compatible with other segments; if you'd tried merging the video-track-only version of the segment, the video-only part of the merged video wouldn't play in MPC-HC (video player), which makes me suspect YouTube might not handle it well either. |
