Sega seem to need more testers--as soon as I clicked the "apply for beta" on Steam, a pop-up said "congrats you're in!" even though before that there had been language saying I'd have to wait for notice once they got space. ^ _^

Oh yeah there's motion blur going on, didn't notice while playing so I guess it wasn't a terrible implementation--only spotted it in my screenshots later. ... OH yeah I did leave that Motion Blur option on, didn't I? ; )

Trying out the Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Open Beta that just started yesterday or something, might run for a week or so?

virtuafighter.com said it was the full game minus Tournament mode so I thought I'd check out the single-player--and in its VF5 Ultimate Showdown--more or less--menu it's got pretty much the same as what you got 1P-wise in that game, ie Arcade mode and Customize Character--but the Customize Character button is grayed-out...

AH, so there's gonna be a "30th Anniversary" bundle of the REVO ($50 instead of $20) that has pretty much all of the VF5US DLC--but NOT VF5US's "TEKKEN 7 Collaboration Pack." Doesn't appear to be any announcement of Tekken stuff for REVO so far.

In REVO there's a notice at the very bottom of Options - License Information saying "TEKKEN™7& ©Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc."

So I guess that means either they forgot to take that notice out or they plan on re-introducing the Tekken costume DLC stuff from VF5US. In the Open Beta you've just got the two default costumes per character.

I pumped the graphics options to max--except I turned Depth of Field off 'cause I don't like that stuff, and I left AA on default--and it ran blisteringly well on my 5-year-old-plus gaming laptop. The graphics were even probably TOO sharp, maybe that was the upscaling I enabled, I dunno. Possibly should'a tried heavier AA to compensate. Anyway, aside from the characters' RGG cheddar-cheese faces and the darn hit sparks that got added in 5US, it looked pretty nice. And the controls--I switched on the low-latency options--seemed plenty responsive--in single-player, I mean.

You can manually change the button icons to PS icons.

I don't expect I'm going to buy it, there's way more for me to do in VF5FS and that looks sharp enough in RPCS3 with ReShade's LumaSharpen shader--and anyway I prefer the smooth style of the original AM2 graphics.

I reported the TEKKEN 7 text on the official feedback Discord channel for the beta:

One nice thing I notice now in the New Virtua Fighter Project teaser gameplay is it doesn't have any flashes on block and only dull dust flashes on hit, unlike the bright hit flashes (and dust flashes on block) that got added in VFes/VF5US and are still in R.E.V.O.
