| | The Japanese title for this 2D sidescrolling beat-'em-up set in ancient China is "Tenchi o Kurau II: Sekiheki no Tatakai"... but I'm never going to be able to remember that so I'll go by the name of the North American arcade release. Runs nice and fast with a ton of big guys onscreen. Handsome period graphics, simple yet satisfying attacks (especially when you find a special weapon like a mace or giant sword) and fairly long stages make this a standout. Get a horse and you really start kicking butt, rather like getting a dragon steed in Golden Axe (except that the horses just give you greater mobility and enhanced melee attacks, rather than a fire breath attack :P). I really wish there were a lot more 2D arcade ports like this. |
