I'm sure the prices were insane for the time, but there's always rich people who are willing to buy things like this. The discs I had were 7" and white (or kind of cream colored, but maybe originally white). They were made out of fiberglass or something with an acetate surface layer as far as I could tell. I later gave all the blank ones to a friend who had found a recorder at a thrift store, though it wasn't working. I did keep a couple that had been recorded onto (nothing interesting, they were just personal letters or memos and had been recorded in the late 1950s).
