Introducing the "interrupt" card (can't recall proper name) opened up a lot of new tricks. Without them the game is just way too predictable. I don't have any opinions on the story. I should check it out again, I just really liked the rhythm of the original - predictability doesn't bother me in something that's basically a tactics game, so long as there's a good difficulty arc.
