have any of you seen a list or image of every single color variant of NGP and NGPC (and NNGPC)??? I keep thinking about this cheapo broken NGP I bought in Japan - it was white with a black stick and red buttons, and I've never seen that before. I think I gave it away to someone (foolishly!) because I can't find it now. Wondering if I am even remembering it correctly!

I haven't seen one, no, but I do believe you posted a picture of it to here or facebook because I clearly remember seeing it. Maybe try browsing your files? (I know that is nightmarish, just a suggestion)

This would be a b/w model for sure, not NGP or NNGP, unless it was a fucked up LE that nobody here has ever mentioned. I remember one with chrome buttons and a red stick I think. I don't know why both the NGP and WS switched to less cool color choices when they went to Color.

The buttons and sticks can be exchanged between all the different models, so if you bought it used, it may not have come that way from SNK. NGP B&W systems had more colorful buttons and sticks. My NGPC as the colored parts from a B&W system, so it's one of a kind!

To answer your question, I remember that SNK-Japan's page had images of all the system variants and I probably still have a backup of the site somewhere on some old CD or something.

An SNK homepage mirror is still online. Since it's plastered with ads for the NGPC Flash Cart I'm guessing Flavor uploaded it. I found it two months ago when I went looking for old SvC MotM staff interviews hosted on the official page. Link inside.

Yep, that's his. I have the generation FlashMasta, btw, I think Luna Ian does too. So far it works perfectly, USB right on the cart, works in OSX, etc. I'm excited to play CF2 in English. I never really put a huge amount of time into it since I have 200 hours into the JP version but I've now forgotten a lot of it and can play it on an actual NGP so it should be a lot of fun.

after playing CF relatively recently before going back to CF2, I found CF2 pretty disappointing - the attempt to put a "proper" story killed a lot of the feeling that I was exploring. Also the card system was less engaging somehow - more complex, but looser.

The thing is, CF1 only had so many strategies. Introducing the "interrupt" card (can't recall proper name) opened up a lot of new tricks. Without them the game is just way too predictable. I don't have any opinions on the story. I'm sure it sucks like every other card fighting game so honestly I skim it very fast and don't really bother to pay attention.

I should check it out again, I just really liked the rhythm of the original - predictability doesn't bother me in something that's basically a tactics game, so long as there's a good difficulty arc.
