If they cant make it reliable, then they cant make it. I know thats not reality, but its a sad situation. Its like ordering a dish in a restaurant and it tasting bad. I really wouldnt want the cook to tell me its that way because it was very complex with a lot of components!

Exactly. This is exactly my point too and I'm kind of a dick about it. I'll relax when I see any Bluray player that's as fast as the slowest Laserdisc player I've ever seen but aparently that technology is somewhere in the future...always in the future, further in the future every year aparently since shit just keeps getting slower and less reliable. We are officially past the point where doing your taxes is easier than playing a video game and that is STRAIGHT FUCKED. "Progress" is not a single line to travel, there are multiple paths and definitions of success. It's not progress that bothers me but this particular flavor of it.
