HUGE NGPC NEWS!!!

I finally got a NNGPC. Camo Blue. In Osaka Super Potato of all places. 9800 yen, but it's like-new (most NNGPCs I've seen haven't been anywhere near as nice; you can pay half that, but it'll be unboxed and damaged in some way, usually with a fairly beat up screen. I've seen a lot in Japan. In fact, I've yet to see a "crystal" one that the case doesn't seem really tired on. I wonder if it's something to do with the plastic.)

Anyway I am very happy with it.

Also Brandon I've seen Melon Chan's Diary multiple times here for about 480yen. Dude you got ripped off in Korea!

dang! I thought it was still R@RE L@@K. What a noob! anyway, very happy for you! I've got the crystal yellow, and frankly I wish I had a solid matte color one, I like them a lot better visually!

I'm surprised by how much I like this Camo one! I really wanted a crystal one but they always seem to be fucked up in some way, nothing is quite as nice as the original smoky clear, which I loved the texture on too.

Wasn't there also a power use difference between the NGPC and the NNGPC? The latter can run upwards of 40+ hours on one set of AA's I recall. The NGPC ran for a long time, too, but I forget how long. Anyway, congrats. It really is a lovely model, and I really love the finger space in the back the NGP systems had.

I think there might be a small bump, like 2 hours. Both Colors will run well over 40 hours on a set of AAs. More like 50.

It doesn't sound scifi at all. It was normal. What we have now is what's scifi, like from some dystopian Gibson book called "9 month Life Span". It isn't about planned euthanasia, it's about landfills brimming with garbage devices.

When things were going downhill for NGPC I planned ahead and picked up a Crystal Blue NNGPC as a spare. Still in mint condition. =)

Good job! As above, I always wanted a crystal one but they've all aged poorly. Maybe one day I'll find a really nice crystal one...

do you mean through use by people, or in some other way? mine has aged fine, but generally I don't throw it around or anything.

All the plastic seems to have gone... crappy. Like, faded or something. It's more noticable on blue and clear, that they just look and feel sort of wrong. I'm not quite sure what it is. I'd have to see a REALLY nice one. Yellow ones seem to generally be a bit better (but I never wanted a yellow, and the screens have been a bit beat up in the ones I saw. I didn't even bother opening the boxed one I saw in Super Potato because it was marked as having a flaw.)

This reminds me how I got my younger bro a NNGPC years ago, complete with MotM and CFC. The idea was I'd have somebody to play with for years on end, but the bastard just sold the lot one day :( So much for my charitable goodness.
