I'm about ready to finally get a 3DS. Is there consensus on what model is the best?

Truth is, I was tired of the empty feeling that playing cellphone games like Final Fantasy Record Keepers was giving me. from chuckjaywalk.

I'm about ready to finally get a 3DS. Is there consensus on what model is the best?

2DS is 79 bucks, including the charger and a (great) game. Nothing beats that! Its also the most comfortable if youre 8 years or older.

Did this, went with Target's Mario Land 3D bundle. Only had to drive to three Targets! It feels solid and fits great in my hands. Thank goodness for the other faceplate they included. I'm digging it. Haven't played it of course, because Target doesn't sell AC adapters. Way to capitalize on that in-store cross-sell opportunity.

2DS is just too clunky for what I want. I'd like to be able to whip the thing out at work to play some turns of SRW and flip it closed when somebody comes by. I'm still not sold on the 3D but the M2 Sega games will be huge for me and I wouldn't want to lose the functionality on those.

the 3D in the M2 games doesn't do it for me, but I will say that the new 3DS does a much better job of making the 3D seem reasonable and viewable!

Why would you say a new 3DS is better than a 2DS or even a cheap old 3DS. In other words, which part of the new 3DS is worth the additional hundred bucks?

highest processing power (thus can play all games at a decent framerate) and the "3D" controller nub. That said, I do not have one.
