Ikari! If you like Ikari 1 and 2 get the SNK 40th thing. The quasi TwinStick support makes manic play so much less physical than it is in the arcade so basically the sword rules now and it’s a whole new game, IMO.

Truth to be told I was somewhat disappointed that Sky Soliders wasn’t on the collection. That game was right next to all the other Osaka junk in my arcade and I haven’t played it at all since maybe 1989/1990.

Yeah Ikari's pretty much the reason I want it. I played that game a lot back in the arcade. : ) (Also Heavy Barrel, I would love for that to come to console.)

It’s kind of the point of Ikari II but I usually stuck with the bazooka regardless. With this new control scheme you can really twirl that thing around which means you can get Ralf right in the shit and not worry.

Basically the Ikari bros fall through a portal to the Sentai universe. Bosses look like they are from Makaimura or something. It’s top weird. I’m a huge fan from way back but I have to say I didn’t remember the color count being this low. :)

No question, it’s easier. Walking while rotating with the original sticks was always a bit of work. This makes it easy. It’s as big of a help as infinite continues, IMO.

The SNK Complete Works section of the museum is so cool. Great job all around there. I learned lots of things about their games I hadn't known before. Tangram Q! (Well I guess that was in the other section but nevermind.) TNK III's non-composer soundtrack! A new appreciation for their first fighting game, Street Smart (which is actually kind of fun and free-flowing combo-y : o).

Man I had no idea the NES versions of the games were in here alongside the arcade versions! Holy smokes! The PSN store description doesn't even name any of the games, or say how many there are. And for the person who comes in not having any idea, and seeing the $40 price tag...I would have to think that's a real tough sell.

The other NES games I've played in there now haven't had that same feeling, so it seems likely it's just part of the actual Ikari NES game.

It was an extremely shitty port. You’re probably just experiencing that. By the time this game came out shops were renting NES stuff and this is exactly the sort of game that sent me back to my Coleco or at least Super Mario Bros. Many more shitty arcade ports (often with shops inserted into them) were to follow.

Tried it again and the input lag feeling wasn't there, so I dunno what that was, maybe just a momentary impression due to some specific occurrence. I do like that it is faster paced than the arcade version--but no continues means that I don't get very far at all. : P

I dunno if that's so bad really; or at least it's sort of "trying" to be bad? It definitely should have done a much better job of showing the actual games, though (the text description doesn't even say what games are included, or how many ; PPPP). But constrast that video with the recent-ish "ACA NEOGEO" releases on the PSN store: the few that have even bothered to *have* a trailer have had the wrong trailer: Riding Hero had the Puzzle Bobble trailer, and the latest release, KOF 2002 (link inside), has the Street Hoop trailer. : P
