| | ~ Frames of light punch input lag on my set-up: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Dreamcast: 3 PS3: 2-3 Flycast: 1 |
| | In Flycast widescreen! On the default difficulty, 2. My Marvel vs. Capcom 2 playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZO3OPzPjIzNZ8zZUw9r8tlOzMVLNtuAe If this version is more zoomed in than the PS3 one, it's only by a few pixels, actually. No in-game movelists in this one. : P I used a save file from GameFAQs to unlock all the stuff. ^ _^ |

| | Oh wait Score Attack doesn't use the difficulty setting. ; D Anyway I think I'll switch to playing Arcade Mode, that way I can continue if I do something bone-headed against the boss, which I have a tendency to do. : P |

| | Last time I tried an Arcade mode in MvC2 was in the PS3 version, at the highest difficulty setting--but that version has just FOUR levels of difficulty; the Dreamcast version has EIGHT!
On the PS3, 4/4 ("EXPERT"; default is 2/4 "MEDIUM") difficulty was about as hard as Score Attack mode in both versions, both of which I can just about 1cc--which means they are NOT very hard at all. ; ) But in the Dreamcast version's Arcade Mode, difficulty 8/8 (the default is 2/8) is tough! The enemy teams can combo off their assists--and air juggle that right into a super! (14:09) Oof! ^_ ^ The AI never game close to anything like that in the PS3 version! = oo I lost a lot but it's better than the game being too easy. So, a new lease on life here going back to the Dreamcast version! = D Maybe I should turn it down to about lv 6 next time so it's not just me getting rolled over and over though. ; ) Oh yeah, Roll showed up! And Thanos! And Sentinel! I pretty much never saw them in PS3 Score Attack mode, I don't think, which has been 99% of the MvC2 play I've been doing for the past few years. And Anakaris completely annihilated me every time he showed up. At first I was disappointed that when you continue, you face a different enemy team--but if it kept the same enemy team, I'd probably still be stuck trying to beat Anakaris! The boss difficulty seems about the same as ever--fortunately! ^ +^ Botched a few bits esp with Strider but fortunately it turned out I had just the supers to get the different boss forms: Hulk's asteroid to conk the first form in the corner, Strider's robo-dogs to hound the second form from across the screen, and Guile's Sonic Hurricane--and turtling and Sonic Booms--to foil the third form! |

Juggernaut, Captain Commando, and Kobun (US name: "Servbot"; https://fightersgeneration.com/characters2/servbot.html says "Kobun" means "little follower") https://wiki.supercombo.gg/w/Marvel_vs_Capcom_2/Servbot : With B assist, Kobun's 2P super is "Kobun Drop" which drops Kobun in a line toward the opponent--but these are easily blocked by the AI in later stages. "'A' is standard Lunch Rush"; "'Y' ["Kobun Frenzy"] covers the screen in front of Servbot and is the most popular." In B assist, apparently there's also A1 + A2 "Rushing King Kobun"--just the big mallet guy but automatically moving forward, maybe? (Yeah: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/dreamcast/914427-marvel-vs-capcom-2/faqs/7861 ) That second boss form can't lay a hand on Kobun, wow! Juggernaut's super wasn't fast enough to go toe-to-toe against the first form, oops. ; ) |

Did even worse trying to trade punches with the first boss form as Juggernaut this time, and kept getting my toe caught by the 2nd as evasive little Kobun! Sheesh. Then Iceman killed the third form in two supers--mostly one point-blank one. = o Got my portrait thumbnail of Kobun, I think that'll be it for me and him for now though, 'cause when I get him set on a working super, I still can't manage much with his assists, specials, or normals. It was kind of hilarious how I think it was the CPU Guile was just doing a perfect jump in combo on my Iceman every time I tried ICE BEAM! at him. ; D; |

Notes to self: MK is the black Sentinel color, HK is the crimson and gold Mega Man color. |

| | A team of three brawlers and I get all nervous against the bosses when I don't have an easy ranged super. ; ) Also, my limited ability to break defenses down, especially with three brawlers--accidentally picking an Amingo assist I knew I wasn't keen on didn't help : P--probably helped lead to me struggling mightily against certain CPU opponents anchoring later teams; Wolverine for instance probably would have killed my entire team single-handed if he'd had enough time left on the clock, 'cause I just couldn't get a hit in around his claws. Eep! And yeah Rogue mostly just has one super (Ax2 does a sorta generic one it sounds like). |

| | Hulk, SonSon, Strider Hiryu Since I started up MvC2 again some weeks back I've been playing the boss battle almost completely brain-dead for some reason: slugging it out with the first form instead of jumping over him, and waiting for the 2nd form to laser me instead of firing first. Hasn't been working great, gotta stop that. ; P Aside from that though, real strong team here. Got my SonSon crushed once thinking I was faster than Psylocke and co.--not so much. : P Got pretty good results from her 2A super, at least. Hulk rocked. Even did not so bad with Strider, although I still kept jumping up on the wall and sticking there accidentally all the time. ; ) Never good at getting those assist power-ups, gotta mark down not to take SonSon's alpha assist. (Oh that fruit she offers is a peach. Pretty pink for a peach but well okay.) |

| | There's a double white screen flash on character KO in this game, so if I wanted to play it now, I suppose I'd play it in Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics (see entry 1951) with the "Light Reduction" option on. |
