| | Default emulator for FightCade, I think. Covers a lot of fighting games from various manufacturers. Similar interface to Final Burn Alpha. MAME-style (see entry 1541) pickiness about ROMs. I always seem to have the wrong versions, and go through the long ROM scanning process for nothing. Won't run the Super Turbo ROM (see entry 1656) extracted from Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (see entry 1595). Last I compared, years ago, FBA was slightly more input delayed than MAME...might have been with KOF 2000? Dunno about current emu versions though. |

| | Can run from command line, just exe and ROM name. |
| | Despite the change from Alpha over the years, Neo is still using the old UI which must be several decades old by now or something; the ROM scanning/display and input saving UIs are still a big PitA. : PP |
| | FBN's last "release" version from 3 years ago added a "run-ahead" option that theoretically knocks off a frame of input delay. They've just done nightly builds since then. |
| | At least when launched from command line--didn't try it launching standard--FBN was not saving volume, runahead, and fullscreen windowed settings, even when selecting the "save to ini" menu thing; had to change them manually in config\fbneo64.ini : P. |
| | Turning auto-pause OFF fixed problems I was having confirming that OBS was recording. : P The "Pause" keyboard button pauses--can't remap hotkeys in this emulator and I don't think there's a fast forward key. |
| | Ah okay yeah it doesn't save any settings made after launching a game directly from a shortcut, sheesh. |
