From Steam. A Galaga arcade ROM can be extracted with game-extraction-toolbox (see entry 1689). I was able to run the extracted ROM in MAME (see entry 1541) 0.119; in more recent MAME 0.255, I couldn't get past a startup status screen.

(You can get it to run in MAME 0.119 by cloning a sound chip file but technically you should go back to about 0.111, before they did that 54xx.bin sound chip stuff.)

My fave Galaga is the shorter-screen one in Namco Museum Vol. 1 for PS1--see entry 1847.
