Checking out the free downloadable Windows PC demo for the faux Sega System 16 "arcade" cute-em-up shooting game by M2, "Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa Opa"! It's supposedly the first two levels of the full version, which is in "Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol.33: Fantasy Zone Complete Collection" for Japanese PS2!

You can download the demo from https://www.mtwo.co.jp/fz2trial/

As well as the game, it installs a shortcut to Sega's page for the full PS2 "Fantasy Zone Complete Collection: http://ages.sega.jp/vol33/home.html

The internet says the game is sometimes called "Fantasy Zone II DX" by fans.

Keys:

F1 - menu
Alt+Enter - full screen / windowed toggle
Space - add credit
Enter - Start
z - shot
x - bomb

The second tab in the menu window has a slider for volume, a drop-down for window size scaling (default x2; max x3--which seems to make the full-screen view a bit sharper), an unchecked mystery checkbox, and a checkbox that is set to stretch the window slightly taller, to 4:3 aspect ratio. Full screen--at least at x3--ran at 1024x768.

The third tab shows the controls and maybe lets you set up a couple sets of remapped controls, I dunno I didn't try.

Slaughtering enemies may open a warp to take you between the two "sides" of each stage, the "Bright" side and the "Dark" side.

There are the usual floating Fantasy Zone shops to find wherein to spend the lunch money you steal. You lose powerups when you die, and some--like weapon powerups--even sooner!

It's definitely ridiculously cute pastel horizontal murdering of seemingly peaceful creatures in the classic Fantasy Zone vein!

I didn't get past the first stage boss, but Wikipedia says https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_Zone_II:_The_Tears_of_Opa-Opa#System_16_remake the demo has "the first and second levels."

Opa Opa can scroll both left and right but will never come to a stop.

... Dang it. I was never able to get into Fantasy Zone but I kinda dig this latter-day sequel! = o The full PS2 version has smoother scrolling, and selectable difficulty levels. Still no continues, though!

(I was trying some more later after recording and found I could beat the first boss--gotta hit 'im in the nose!--once I stuck to Big Wings--jet engine was too fast and I kept crashing into logs!--and mapped the controls to my DualSense with DS4Windows. : )

Oh! The PS2 version is on the PS3 JP PS Store! Whew, it was kind of pricey on eBay. Man, jailbreaking my PS3 has been the best thing ever. ^ D^ Huh actually it's more expensive than the other Sega Ages 2500 Series PS2 games on there--1,528 Yen instead of 838 Yen! Still a lot lower than eBay prices of course. : )
