Man, I actually hate these games. And I have owned most of them from the MGS HD collection for PS3 on back. I have never finished any of them. The pacing for me was always staccato, with some key finding, stealthing, getting caught, running away, licking my wounds because I suck at stealth, and repeating. I have tried for so long but honestly the series is exasperating for me. I even had those Ac!d games for PSP and just could not get into them either.

I actually bought about half of my MGS stuff for so cheap it's not even funny. I kept thinking "maybe it'll finally click once I have time to play them" but I actually kind of avoid them after which is pathetic. Part of me thinks that some new control scheme will make it easier for me but it never works out of course. For what it's worth, the MG series is pretty much the last of the "everyone else loves this so I'm going to try to replicate the enjoyment - finally!" type of game I will engage in. It's been a couple decades or more of fruitless trying. When my coworker got in a froth about Kojima's situation at Konami I had to feign interest in the subject. I was actually more upset that I didn't buy the Bloom County comic book Humble Bundle in time than I was about Kojima.

yeah, I feel like maybe 30% of the people I know who play games really like the series and stick by it, 40% like it but apologize, and the other 30% don't like it at all.
