I suppose I'll try to go back and play more but I kept discovering more and more techniques and layers to the game which overwhelmed me with possibilities. Not in a bad way, just that the game is as deep as you want it to be which is really hard to design I think. I understand (finally) why people love the series so, but I think my threshold is now about 40 or so hours into a game of this depth before I start requiring a firm conclusion (and New Game + or optional post-game stuff). MH isn't designed with story in mind though this game seems to have light enough narrative to give you reason to open up new areas. from NeoGutsman.
I really quite liked MH3, and I was super excited for 4, but I'm not sure I've ever been more angered by a game's controls. It's so fucking stupid. They've gone out of their way to make sure the controls are the same as previous games, when they should be improving the camera and changing the controls so obvious things like "put the inventory on the touchscreen" happen and make the game MORE FUN TO PLAY. I'm aware that if I just got a new 3DS it would be more playable, but I bet things still happen like you accidentally sharpen your sword still happen all the time. This series is a perfect example of why Japanese games are in a ghetto. They people designing them are stuck in like 2004.
