This is all just for curiosity's sake. I find it interesting that someone with no real knowledge of mahjong could push through but I have noticed on the lowest settings that it's pretty easy to create a closed basic hand (4 melds and a pair) so if you only know that much it's totally doable, i guess. For me, having learned a lot of the rules of mahjong except some of the tricker hands, It's taken about 3 days of moderate play on 3 and 4 skill to unlock about 2/3rds of the stuff. I'll probably up the difficulty more for the remaining stuff and try to finish the game by Monday since I have a few days off. (n/t) from twelvest.
Took about a week or two of intense play to unlock everything, probably on the lowest possible difficulty but I don't recall for sure. I vividly remember one night playing from 1 to 6 AM. That was horrible and irresponsible but I was on a roll and didn't want to lose my grasp by sleeping. I think it was the final set of pictures I needed and managed to pull it off just after the sun came up. God, this game really was a trip.
