I cant believe an SNK post gets no replies! I mean, i understand, but its still kind of amazing :) (n/t) (Mental) (15:19:23 11/03/15 EST)
this is real weird, and I kind of have a hard time believing it! (n/t) (exodus) (02:32:05 11/04/15 EST)
It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. (n/t) (SignOfZeta) (12:15:39 11/05/15 EST)
The gaming (possibly mobile) market has more opportunity than the pachinko market. Its surprising, but not necessarily weird! (n/t) (Mental) (16:22:48 11/06/15 EST)
Yeah, but you have to actually compete. Gamble-ing is a cash cow. Idiot has money, machine takes money from idiot, profit. Nobody's going to complain that your net code has too much lag in it. Fuck, half of those guys are so drunk they don't even know which machine their pissing their paycheck INTO. Honestly? I wouldn't consider it smart to invest in any kind of video game stuff. Consoles are fucked. Handhelds, doubly so. Mobile is healthy on the whole, but getting your game noticed without a billion dollar ad campaign is nigh on impossible. It seems just...impossible, that this decision would make sense. Maybe they pissed off the yakuza and got strong armed out of the business? Maybe SNK president was born again? Does SNK actually have more than five full time employees in the gaming division? What have they even released recently? (n/t) (SignOfZeta) (20:02:28 11/06/15 EST)
I REALLY dont want to piss anyone off, but your accurate description of the average gambler sounds like the average mobile gamer. Except of course, gamblers need to walk to an ATM, and most mobile gamers have their bank accounts directly linked, often without even the hurdle of password protection, to their accounts. "What are you telling me my friend is playing, dear phone? Its 0.99? Purchase made". "The iphone now has folder support! I was so annoyed that i had 16 pages of games to scroll through!" the only thing I can think of is that SNK is going to turn into a licensing-only shell under the chinese company that bought it. the licenses are still worth something to them, so they'll just farm out development of SNK f2p titles, I'm guessing. Still though, it doesn't make sense to leave the pachinko market unless they're really getting beat up there, and that just seems so unlikely. Konami is all in on this stuff (can't say the actual word on this site!) for a reason. (n/t) (exodus) (15:18:44 11/10/15 EST)
And here's a link to the second KOF XIV teaser trailer, which just came out this week. (Paleface) (05:21:08 11/07/15 EST)
