There was a cabinet in the rec room of my dorm in college; I didn't really have money to spend playing it--partly because I was awful at it so a quarter was gone in no time at all--but I would watch the intro and demo over and over. I finally got a quasi-legal ROM of it recently from the Humble Bundle version and tried to get into playing it but I found it really stressful. The game hits so hard! : o (n/t) from Paleface.
I love that the guy basically says that they were aiming for that from the beginning, were told to avoid it, ignored the advice and made game exactly like that. :)
