Beating the dumb Lv 4-7 CPU, then crying vs the Lv 8 CPU until I got lucky or...something.

CPU doesn't particularly handle fireball battles, uppercut whiffs, or crouching medium kick very well.

CPU Lvs 4-7 is poor. CPU Lv 8 is absurdly robotically perfect except in a few goofy ways.

I hate that throws beat Ryu's uppercuts on wakeup. WHAT. And why are throw animations so jerky? Weird, man.

I hate all the energy stuff 'cause I'm too dumb, I just want to punch things. Just let me punch things. This is the sluggishly animated arbitrary, unintuitive combos of SFV, the armored attacks of 4, and the parries of 3 (except with more annoying input) with layers of rock-paper-scissors glowy energy nonsense ladled on top.

Oh well I'm bad at all of those things and I hate combos. ; )

Anyway this got me to go buy USFIV instead: that one's much faster, has fewer extraneous mechanics, and the combos are much more intuitive. = D

Well... At least SF AI is still goofy. : P

HOBO pointed out to me https://selectbutton.net/t/melee-island-fighting-game-club/12360/416 that 6 doesn't actually have the unintuitive hit box problems of V, and also that Street Fighter's combos have always been kinda weird.

I realized that I don't mind that so much as long as a) I can do combos hitting buttons that feel like they should work and they mostly work, which as far as I played in this demo, they pretty much did. So that was actually all right.

But b) it was the AI drilling me with 3x energy combo extensions that was particularly aggravating! ; D AI in other SFs, while never maybe the most fun to play against in the fighting game world, did not at least pound into your head that there was a whole weird combo side of things, so I could pretty much ignore it. In 6, though, you get it pounded into you.

Also, the AI is just bad: Lv 4-7 CPU is surprisingly weak, then Lv 8 is kinda input-reading-feelingly, max-combo wall-crushingly perfect mean...except that it's also weirdly bad at things like what I mentioned before (fireball battles, uppercut whiffs, cr.MK). At the moment I think it's probably the worst SF AI I've played against; worst as in least fun. Maybe even most robotic--more so than II??
