Anderson's pretty plain vanilla. He's the character you use in the single player game so by the time you get to multiplayer yer pretty familiar with him. This may be why a lot of beginning players use him. But he's also the character of choice amongst the elite - those hardcore guys who play play play until they're just about perfect. It's because of his skill with the rifle: Anderson's marksmanship far outclasses that of any other character. Facing an Anderson at long range is a one-way ticket to Deadsville. The rifle is such a nice weapon - unbeatable range, large magazine, high caliber - that I really really wanted to get good at usin' Anderson. So I used him, and tried to kill everyone with the rifle. And I found out that I suck with the rifle at close range. But SOME guys can slaughter with it at close range. Me, I got really frustrated. And since his pistol is slow as molasses compared to Sanchez or Dr. Death, you'd better have a shotgun or yer gonna get whacked. At least that's what happened to me. |

But the really big downer of Anderson for me is that he's boring. Sure, he's unbeatable with the rifle, but I just don't get off on shootin' people from way far away. For me swirling, up-close combat is where the excitement lies and in these situations Anderson faces a huge disadvantage. I'd like to be good with him. I really would. But I'm not, and he's boring. So there. Check Anderson's character variables from the Outlaws olobj.lab data file. |
